South London Cuba Solidarity Campaign present a screening of 'Will the Real Terrorist Stand Up'
Stockwell Community Centre, 1, Studley Road SW4 6RA, (behind Stockwell tube station) - 1.45pm
South London CSC are showing this documentary made by award-winning writer and filmmaker Saul Landau. The film includes historic film sources and interviews with anti-Cuban terrorists in the USA and a large variety of other sources. It’s an in-depth exploration of 50 years of terrorist actions carried out and instigated by the U.S. Government against the Cuban people.
It has been estimated that over the years 3,000 Cubans have lost their lives at the hands of these terrorists.
One of the most notorious terrorist acts was the bombing of Cubana Flight 455 in October 1976 en route to Barbados from Jamaica. All 78 people on board died. The masterminds of this monstrous act were Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch, both CIA operatives. They were both on the run from justice in Venezuela and Cuba but meantime have walked the Miami streets completely freely at the behest of Presidents Bush (Senior and Junior) and current President Obama. (Bosch recently died.) While, on the other hand, five Cuban men who coura-geously infiltrated the Miami terrorist groups with a view to thwarting further terror acts, have been framed up and imprisoned in the USA .
The films is 1 hour 5 minutes long.

The Miami 5
Cuban patriots - political prisoners in US jails
Rene Gonzalez - free at last
Now free the other 4
Speaker
Steve Cottingham
(UK lawyer and activist for the Miami 5)
Last month Rene Gonzalez was freed from a U.S. Jail on parole. He had spent over 13 years in US prisons.
Rene was one of a group of political prisoners known as the Miami 5. Rene and the others were framed up and convicted after false accusations by the US government of spying. Their ‘actual’ crime - in the eyes of the US government - was that they had infiltrated terrorist groups operating freely in the USA who are composed of right wing anti-Cuba exiles.
The Miami 5 sought to gain information about these groups’ terrorist plans to pass back to Cuba so that the terrorist acts could be prevented. In one of the longest trials in US history, which was conducted in frenzied and hostile atmosphere in Miami, the 5 were railroaded to jail.
Rene, who has never been allowed to see his wife throughout the 13 years in jail, is being forced to remain on parole in the USA and is still being prevented from being visited by his wife. Nevertheless, his release opens up a whole new opportunity to advance the fight to free the remaining four patriots.
We are also showing a few short videos on this topic.
