17 June 2012

Bolivar Hall, 54 Grafton Way, London
Tuesday 10 July 2012, 7pm

The Camerata Vocal ‘Música Áurea’ (‘Golden Music’) is a choir of young singers in the city of Santiago in eastern Cuba. It was established in February 2002 and is still led by its founding Musical Director Delvis Sanchez Suarez.

Música Áurea performs choral music of an extremely high standard, achieving great musicality and finesse as well as emotional intelligence. The Musical Director is a very experienced choral leader and has high expectations of her choir through consistent hard work.

Their repertoire includes a wide range of styles and historical periods, from the Renaissance to the contemporary. They perform classical works by composers such as Monteverdi, Mozart, Bach, Mendelssohn, Ravel and Rimsky-Korsakov, and Cuban composers such as Roberto Valera, as well as popular Cuban ‘boleros’ set to wonderful choral harmonies.
