CSC is delighted to announce the launch of our new Educational Study Tour!
We are organising this Study Tour in association with Havanatour, the UK’s leading Cuba travel specialist. The Study Tour will be ATOL protected (ATOL 4636) and Havanatour Booking conditions will apply.
The Study Tour would provide the unique opportunity to:
• Meet with the Ministry of Education to gain an overview of the Cuban education system and the Federation of Cuban Women to examine the positive approach to education for girls.
• A series of related professional visits to a variety of schools, in an urban and rural environment and education for children with special needs, to gain a valuable and fascinating insight into the continuing achievements of the Cuban Revolution and present day Cuban society.
• Strengthen solidarity links with Sister Teaching Trade Unions and CTC, Cuban Trades Union Congress, in Havana and the provincial capital of Pinar del Río.
• Examine the challenges facing Cuba’s educational system as well as the problems caused by the on going US trade blockade of Cuba. The US government, despite overwhelming global opposition, has imposed this policy for over forty seven years.
• Meet and discuss current issues with Cuban teachers in their workplace.
• Examine the history and context of Cuba’s successful post revolution literacy campaign.
• An invitation to a local Committee for the Defence of the Revolution (CDR) neighbourhood meeting. A unique opportunity to listen to and discuss a range of issues effecting a local community in Pinar del Río.
• Experience the captivating capital city of Havana, the provincial city of Pinar del Río, the dramatic pin cushion hills of Viñales Valley and vibrant Cuban culture at first hand. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the real revolutionary Cuba away from the usual tourist trails, experience Cuba’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and provide visible solidarity and support to the Cuban people
